Day 15 - Kovalam

Got a torch, so no more stumbling about in the dark on the way back to the hotel :-)

The town in dead today.  There's a general strike over fuel price increases, so there's no taxi's, or tuk-tuks, so the town is really quiet.

After breakfast, we wandered into town after Karen had done her yoga, so it was almost lunchtime.  We finally managed to find a small place that was recommended in Lonely Planet.  It was excellent, and very cheap.
The weather started getting a bit stormy.  We were in the Rock Cafe again, and they had to clear all the tables at the front as it started pouring.  Just as they got them cleared, it stopped raining.  Sod's law.

In the evening we headed out to try the Milabar Cafe - another recommendation from the Lonely Planet.  The rain came on big time!  We'd taken jackets in case though, so no problem.  The town was still dead though, with only a handful of shops open and the lights along the seafront were off.
After dinner we were heading back along the beach path using the torch, and met a local man who lived next to the hotel.  He invited us in for tea, and we accepted.  Really nice guy, although he had very little English, he was happy to sit and try and chat.  His family - wife, daughter and grand daughter, and the worlds smallest cat all live with him.

And so to bed.
